This is something that very advanced pianists understand, beginners don't understand, and intermediate pianists underestimate. That specific thing is what I think makes the song so difficult you have to be able to physically play the notes (and you'll need a bit of stamina to be able to play the whole song since it's like 7 minutes or so) and also play it like music and not fast noise. The problem is that the piece is lengthy, complex, and requires a LOT of work to make it actually sound musical and not like a bunch of fast noise. ![]() Therefore if you break it down into sections and learn those, then the whole song will come together without actually studying every single measure individually. It also has a lot of places where it's repeating the same thing or something very very similar, so if you learn that one section then you've learned a fairly decent chunk of the song. You have a lot of arpeggiated chords, some scales, and it's all really fast. Overall though, the 3rd movement isn't horribly difficult in terms of the types of techniques that are required to physically play it. I've worked this song before and if you're a beginner you have no chance of being able to play the 3rd movement, at least not for several years. ![]() Six or seven years is more realistic, and when you start learning it expect to spend probably a year on it. Three years minimum, assuming dedication, a good teacher, and learning everything the right way from the beginning with no bad habits.
